The HYPPER Program!

Many adults find it extremely challenging to live in today’s society. So imagine being a teenager with pressure from every direction – from bullying and peer pressure on social media, at school, and oftentimes at home to dealing with the pressure of being the best in sports and academics. It can be extremely difficult for anyone to deal with and especially so for teenagers. Furthermore, add into the mix the potential for mental health problems on top of normal everyday pressure and the situation quickly spirals and can get out of control.

The HYPPER Program – Helping Young People Perform, Excel, and Recover – is Federal City’s treatment program which offers outpatient prevention & recovery services to adolescents between the ages of 12 and 21. Our program is world-class, powered by positive and performance-based outcome models which helps youths, along with their families, to reduce and/or prevent the abuse of substances and criminal behavior. This program gives pre-teens, teens, and young adults ways to continue studying during treatment, so they stay on track during their academic career. We work with the student’s schedule to help accommodate class priorities and incorporate the HYPPER program’s activities because we not only want the student to succeed in school, but also be successful in life!

Our program focuses on helping and encouraging kids to polish their social skills for making healthy and balanced life choices and to give them the tools to pinpoint and cease behaviors that could promote drug use and other criminal activity.

Federal City’s Youth Treatment Program is licensed under DC Chapter 23 Certification Standards of the DC Department of Behavioral Health–Addictions Prevention and Recovery Administration and is approved for Medicaid.
